With over 16 years of experience focusing on waterfront properties, She has been a cottager in the area since the mid-1960s and moved here permanently in 2003. She met her husband Ted while staying at Kennisis Lake when she was a teenager. They bought their first cottage on Little Redstone in 1969 and built their retirement home on the same lake in the late 90s.
She became a Real Estate Salesperson in 2005 and a Broker in 2012. She was on Haliburton’s top team in waterfront sales for 9 years and has been the recipient of Chestnut Park’s Chairman’s Award for the past 3 years. Working in real estate works well with her husband Ted’s “retirement” professions (professional engineering consultant and running a cottage rental business).
Moving frequently as a military wife, she had always had a keen interest in the real estate market, so it was a natural progression for her to go into real estate after careers in teaching, banking, and working for Passport Canada – Ontario Directorate. After 50 years of marriage, Ted and Shirley are now blessed with 4 wonderful children and 8 awesome grandchildren, all of whom have adopted the Haliburton area as their home away from home.
